Different but Cute!

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd add another one today. I used an assortment of turquoise color acrylic beads which included some flowers and leaves. It's on "brown" wire which is actually dark copper. It's different but I think it turned out pretty cute! That's the thing about wire crochet. Picking the beads is half the fun and you don't really know how it will look till it's done!

Here is a new one created with Amazonite chips and silver wire. It's such a pretty aqua color.

Two of the girls I used to work with & I have remained close friends through the years. We don't see each other as often as we'd like but we do try to get together three or four times a year. Both of their birthdays are in February and mine is in April. We're getting together Saturday and since their birthdays are this month I decided to make these bracelets as gifts. There are three of them and they are meant to symbolize our friendship. There are two strands of purple which represents amethyst for February and one strand of clear which represents diamond for April.

My daughter asked for a necklace to go with a new navy blue sweater. I made these two different designs using silver wire and lapis lazuli chips. Lapis Lazuli is a gemstone and is regarded by many people around the world as the stone of friendship and truth. It is said to encourage harmony in relationships and help the wearer be authentic and give her opinion openly. It also matches a navy blue sweater! It would be really pretty with denim, too.

The one on the top is three strands braided together leaving open strands with a cluster in the center.

The bottom is three loose strands with a silver pendant and two small
dangles.

A little about me

My grandma, Granny B, taught me to crochet when I was a little girl. Granny B crocheted a lot, mostly with thread. Gramps used to say he'd rather go without groceries than crochet thread! Gran must have been a little grumpy when she was out of thread! Mom also crochets a lot. She's carrying on the tradition and is teaching my granddaughter. I've had a passion for creating handmade jewelry for the last several years and am excited to be able to combine it with crochet!

Here's a necklace I finished today. It's in natural shades of gold and bronze on copper wire.

I'm jumping into the world of blogging! I've made jewelry for quite some time and it's my favorite thing to do.
I have a love of all things "sparkly"!

I recently discovered something new, Wire Crochet. The first time I saw of piece of wire crochet jewelry I was "hooked". (Pun intended!) It's unique, artsy, and the possibilities are endless! No two pieces look the same.
