Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! When I started this blog it was all about wire crochet jewelry. I fell in love with the first piece I saw and I had to learn how. I was "hooked"!

September makes me sad...

The first day of September always makes me sad because it marks the end of summer and the dreaded winter will be here before we know it.

I think the thing I hate the most about winter is how ugly it is.  I miss green!

"Dreaming of Green in the Winter"

I made this necklace really long and didn't add a clasp so it can be worn as two or three strands.  The tag style pendant says "Dream" on the back.

Just a little reminder of how pretty it is to look out the window and see the beautiful trees full of leaves and a yard full of green grass!

SPRING BEGINS!

On the calendar today it says ~ Spring Begins!  O Happy Day!  I know you're all just as excited by that announcement as I am!

I made a bracelet with these beads last year and made another one this year because they just seem so... Springy!

Have a nice day!  : )

"Mermaid" Wire Crochet Necklace

It was fun to work with these bright colors!  The shell pendant and ocean colors make me think of a mermaid and the green wire seaweed.

There are six strands of peridot wire with tiny seed beads in green and blue with an iridescent finish and some 6/0 gold lined green beads.  Each strand is a little different.

The weather has been beautiful this week!  I'm sure there is more winter to come but this has been such a nice break!  And look at the gorgeous sunset we had the other night...

"Lime Twist" Wire Crochet Necklace

Again, one of my favorite colors!  For this five strand necklace, I crocheted a mixture of  lime, gold and antique gold seed and bugle beads on Peridot wire.  (Actually, chartreuse may be a better description of the color, but I couldn't think of a name to go with chartreuse!)  I left long ends on each side of the center section.  They are fastened to a big gold toggle clasp in the back.  The gold end cones make a nice finish on each side of the crocheted section.  There's quite a bit of sparkle to this one, too.  The bugle beads really catch the light.  This has to be one of my all time favorites!

"Callie", Inspired by California Dreaming

♫ "California Dreaming on such a winter's day..." ♫

I was working on this necklace this weekend as 10" of snow was falling.  I must say it was just a little depressing for the first day of spring!  The colors in these beads cheered me up a bit.  They remind me of  beach glass.  It was nice to imagine a nice warm walk on the beach on such a nasty day!

I used a mixture of Czech glass beads, Czech Fire Polished Beads, and 6/0 seed beads to make the focal point of this necklace and completed it with silver chain.

Don't forget you have until March 31st to enter the giveaway in my previous post!

Pink & Green Bracelets

I got to take a little "mini" vacation last week. I took a few beads with me (Beads don't take up much room in a suitcase!) and had some time to play.
In her blog, Eye for Color, Beverly Ash Gilbert asked what your favorite color combination is. http://beverlygilbert.blogspot.com/ Well, mine is pink and green! I love pink and green, separately or together, whether it's in pale shades or fuchsia and lime green! I had a couple packages of pillow beads that I hadn't opened yet and some fire polished beads that matched so they went into the suitcase. I made these bracelets, one pink, one green and two mixing the colors. They make me think of green grass and pink roses!
